Tri-County Pre-Mite Rules
Below is a list of the rules adopted by our league.  For the first year parents and players, please take a few minutes to read the rules.  

1. An adult pitcher shall pitch to all batters on the team.

2. The batter shall receive a maximum of five (5) pitches.

3. If the adult pitcher gets hit with a ball, it is ruled a 'dead' ball and re-pitched.  The batter is not out.

4. There is no stealing (home or bases).

5. The base runners must stop when the ball is returned to the adult pitcher, who shall be within the pitching circle.  The adult pitcher must make a reasonable effort to catch or stop the ball when thrown to him/her by the opposing team player.

6. An inning shall be complete when:
     a) There are three (3) outs or;
     b) Ten (10) players have batted

7. The number of players on the field shall be nine (9).

8. Teams must be composed of co-ed players wherever possible.

9. No automatic outs if less then nine (9) players.

10. No switching of players from one team to another.

11. You are to get one base on an overthrow if it goes out of play, as per rule book.  On an overthrow where the ball remains in play, the runner cannot advance and must stay on that base.

12. Carded umpires are not required.

13. Once ten (10) players have batted the inning is complete.  NO PLAYER left on base shall return to that base next inning.

14. Pitchers helper must wear a helmet with a face guard while on the field.

15. No new inning will start after one (1) hour, unless agreed upon by both coaches.

16. No rule changes shall be made at the scheduling meeting.

17. All catchers must wear an approved throat guard, mask and helmet, as well as a chest protector, jock/jill, and shin pads as per Softball Canada Rules.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

18. All batters and runners must wear helmets with a face guard fastened securely to the head by a strap fitted under the chin as per Softball Canada Rules.  No EXCEPTIONS.

19. Pre-Mite pitching distance is 30', while bases are 45'.
